Due to popular demand we have increased the number of hands-on sessions this year to give you more options. These courses are suitable for anyone wishing to know more about congenital heart disease and wanting to observe the various lesions first hand.

Dates for the hands-on workshops (3 days)

• Monday 17th May to Wednesday 19th May 2010
• Monday 21st June to Wednesday 23rd June 2010
• Tuesday 31st August to Thursday 2nd September 2010

The aim of this three day course is to allow for small group discussion, in an informal setting, of important groups of congenital lesions both in theory and by hands-on examination of specimens. By the end of the course, participants will be comfortable with the anatomy of the major groups of congenital heart lesions and be able to analyse hearts in a sequential segmental fashion.

** Spaces are strictly limited to 10 delegates to allow for more personal tuition, time for personal examination of specimens and discussion **

Topics will include:

• Sequential segmental analysis
• Septal defects (ASD, VSD, AVSD)
• Outflow I: Tetralogy of Fallot, Double outlet ventricle, Common arterial trunk, arch abnormalities
• Isomerism & abnormal veins
• Functionally Univentricular Heart
• Abnormal AV & arterial valves (Ebstein’s, abnormal MV, straddling valves, arterial valvar stenosis & regurgitation)
• Outflow II: Transposition

The price of the three day course is £525, or £175 per day if you're unable to attend all three days.

Monday 26th July to Wednesday 28th July 2010

This two day theoretical course with special guest speaker Prof. Robert Anderson will be followed by an optional third day hands-on workshop.

Topics will include:

• Morphology theory
• Updates in developmental cardiology
• Interpretation of complex morphology.

The price of the two day theoretical course is £450 and the hands-on day is an additional £150.
